Kalashnikov USA now offers a non-NFA 12-ga. firearm called the Khaos based on the company’s gas-operated KS-12T semi-automatic AK-pattern shotgun. The 12.67" barrel is chambered for 2¾" and 3" shotshells fed from five-round removable box magazines.
A proprietary overmolded bird’s head-style grip, available in various configurations, gives this firearm a legal overall length of 27.21". The Khaos is fitted with a bead front sight, a V-notch rear sight and an AR-15 style handguard with M-Lok slots to support a variety of accessories. The Khaos is the first model to feature the company’s new one-hand-operation action.
Although most AK-type shotguns require the bolt to be locked in the open position in order to insert a fully loaded magazine, this modified action can be reloaded with the bolt closed.
